MIDDAY ASSISTANT

We are looking for an enthusiastic Midday Assistant to join our wonderful lunchtime team to supervise and support our children during their lunch break.
Start: As soon as possible
Salary: Scale 1, point 3 £25,614 FTE (pro rata for hours worked / £13.28 per hour)

38 weeks per year (term time only)
Permanent contract
Working hours: Monday to Friday 12:00 – 1.15pm

SCHOOL CLEANER

We are looking for a school cleaner to join our wonderful cleaning team on a fixed-term basis. The role would involve cleaning designated areas to a high standard. Ideally, we would like someone to work 1.5 hours a day either before or after the school day (see below).

Start: As soon as possible
Salary: Scale 1, point 3 £25,614 FTE (pro rata for hours worked - £13.28 per hour)

38 weeks per year (term time only)
Fixed term contract
Working hours: Monday to Friday between 6am-8:30am or 3:30pm-6:30pm

Early/Late Play Club SENCO Play Leader

Would you like to join a charity that makes a real difference in children’s everyday lives? We are looking to recruit a part-time Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) Play Leader.

R A B Play Club is an OFSTED registered breakfast and after-school club based at the R A Butler Academy in Saffron Walden.  We provide a vibrant, welcoming space where play and imagination take the lead.  You'll be part of a dedicated, friendly team who care deeply about helping families and strengthening the local community.  We take pride in fostering a positive, fun and nurturing environment where every child feels valued, safe and able to thrive. 

 Every member of our fantastic team plays a part in making that happen, and we’re looking for someone who shares our values, creativity and integrity to join the team. Main duties include:

  • Lead and deliver engaging, inclusive play opportunities for children, ensuring children with SEND are fully included and supported in all activities.
  • Develop positive relationships with children, encouraging their social, emotional and physical development through play.
  • Work closely with parents, carers, school staff and external professionals to support individual children's needs.
  • Implement and review support plans, risk assessments and reasonable adjustments for children with additional needs and maintain appropriate records.
  • Provide guidance and support to other play club staff on inclusive practice and SEND strategies.
  • Ensure safeguarding, child protection, health and safety and OFSTED requirements are consistently met.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support children in developing confidence, independence and friendships.

This is a part-time role, working 15 hours per week in our after-school club. Monday to Friday 3pm – 6pm (days/hours are flexible). The post is term-time only.

FTE salary £25353 including holiday pay (prorated for part-time hours). NEST contributory pension scheme with employer contributions of 7%.

Experience of overseeing the SEN provision in a childcare setting is preferred. An appropriate level 2/3 childcare qualification is required. Continued professional development opportunities are available. The role requires excellent communication skills.
